Supporting Women’s and Children’s Health with Gentle Acupuncture Care

Hello, and welcome

I’m so glad you’re here

I’m a registered acupuncturist practising in Nottingham, offering professional, individualised holistic acupuncture, with a special interest in women’s health, fertility and hormonal balance. I also support babies and children through Shonishin, a gentle, needle-free Japanese acupuncture technique.

My approach is patient-centred, which means your treatment is shaped around you, not just your symptoms. I take time to listen carefully to your story, understand your health history, and consider how your physical, emotional and lifestyle factors interact. From there, treatments are tailored to your needs, pace and goals, rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol.

I believe that when people feel heard, safe and supported, the body responds more deeply to treatment. My aim is to create a calm, respectful space where healing can unfold naturally, whether I’m working with women at different life stages, supporting fertility journeys, or caring for babies and children.

Alongside my clinical work, I am deeply committed to ongoing training, learning and developing my skills, ensuring that the care I provide is safe, effective and informed by current practice.

I am fully licensed and registered with Nottingham City Council and Beeston (Broxtowe Borough) Council, and a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), through which I am also fully insured.

Being part of the BAcC allows patients to reclaim the cost of treatment through many employers and private health insurance providers.

About Me

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM). I was trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element approaches. I am currently continuing my studies, deepening my knowledge in Classical Chinese Medicine to further enhance my understanding and practice.

Additionally, I have completed a year long Postgraduate Diploma in Gynaecology, Fertility, and Obstetrics.

My advanced training also includes Shonishin, a specialised, non-invasive Japanese technique that allows me to care for babies and children in a gentle and effective way.

I regularly support clients with:

Shonishin needle-free

Japanese Acupuncture

What is Shonishin?

Shonishin is a gentle, non-invasive form of Japanese acupuncture, specifically designed for babies and young children.

Originating in Japan during the 17th century, this technique was developed in response to the unique needs of children, recognizing that they are more sensitive to touch and stimulation, and often require a different approach than adults. Shonishin gently encourages balance, supports healthy development, and promotes overall well-being.

How does Shonishin work?

Unlike traditional acupuncture, Shonishin does not use needles. Instead, it uses small, specialized tools to gently stroke, tap, or brush the surface of the skin.

These light techniques help to regulate the child’s vital energy (Qi), promoting healthy flow throughout the body. Treatments are calming and painless; many children find them soothing and even enjoyable.

The aim is to support the body’s natural ability to heal, helping bring it back into balance. Treatments are tailored to each child, depending on their symptoms, constitution, and developmental stage.

What can Shonishin help with?

  • Colic and digestive issues

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Anxiety or irritability

  • Recurrent colds or low immunity

  • Bedwetting and developmental concerns

  • Skin conditions

  • Headaches

  • Hyperactivity

Interested in exploring Shonishin for your little one?

Whether you're navigating sleep struggles, digestive issues, or simply want to support your child’s overall well-being, Shonishin offers a gentle and effective approach. Many parents are surprised by how calm and relaxed their little ones feel after a session. If you’re curious or have any questions, I’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch. I'm happy to chat and help you decide if Shonishin is the right fit for your family.
